Approach

Work with me

It is often said that psychotherapy is both a science and an art. In trying to merge both the concrete and more abstracts aspects of this work, I have landed on an integrative approach that implements concrete evidence-based approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as an umbrella approach while using experiential and trauma-informed approaches that focus on process and relational reparative work as nuanced interventions. Thus, through a pragmatic lens and the foundation and through creativity and experiential exploration as the path, emotional change and behavior mobilization is slowly and steadily facilitated. Our work is also contextualized through feminist lens that seeks to understand and acknowledge the social systems under which you may be operating.

I draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral therapy and Emotion-Focused Therapy.

In working with couples, I have received training in evidence-based approaches including Emotion-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for couples and mindfulness-based interventions, particularly for couples struggling with sexual difficulties

My Values in Practice

  • Being a soft, empathic listener who shows up to relationships with passion, presence, and humility.
  • Prioritizing slowness and depth over quick fixes in my therapeutic work.
  • Believing in the importance of engaging in therapeutic activities outside of the therapy hour.
  • Valuing connection to nature and community as catalysts for mental and emotional well-being.
  • Practicing what I preach by doing my own therapeutic work and being part of a Community of Practitioners, where I share and grow with equally passionate colleagues.
